About me

The first time I stepped into a yoga class I didn’t know what I was in for. It was an Ashtanga yoga class. I enjoyed the challenge, the balance between strength and flexibility, and by the end of it I realised that there was something there that I had never got from any other physical activity before. During my first yoga journey to India in 2005 I was introduced to the traditional Mysore style Ashtanga yoga practice and there was no way back - I was hooked.

I have had a daily practice since, and a deep love and respect for the Ashtanga yoga method as taught by my teacher R.Sharath Jois at the source of Ashtanga Yoga - Sri K Pattabhi Jois Yoga Institute (KPJAYI) in Mysore, India, where I return to further my studies. My training as an Ashtanga Yoga teacher accredit from Yoga Alliance and qualification in Yoga Therapy for Mental Health at The Minded Institute, together with my training in Postural Impairments diagnosis and Ergonomics (part of my B.Ed in Physical Education) and M.A. studies in Gerontology (ageing) are embedded in my teaching. My approach to practice and teaching has further evolved in recent years after managing a back condition, and through the journey of becoming a mother. I find that the yoga empowers me with focus, strength, tranquility and patience.
